to the economic future. The businessman said "I want to say one
word to you. Just one word, are you listening? Plastics.
In the aviation business today, if you wanted to play out that
scene, the one word the businessman would say is composites.
In a world where the price of fuel goes ever higher, the order of
the day is to make aircraft lighter and lighter, to drive fuel
savings which provide extended range and extra payload options, and
can improve aircraft speed - all important contributors to the
profitability of operators. The future will see more and more use
of composite materials in the construction of all classes and sizes
of aircraft.
